Midwives are advanced practice clinicians who specialize in providing comprehensive care from adolescence through menopause. They focus on primary, sexual, and reproductive health with a whole-person approach—partnering with individuals from all backgrounds to support physical, emotional, and mental wellness at every stage.
Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) are registered nurses with either a master’s or doctoral degree in nursing or midwifery. They are nationally certified and licensed to provide care in hospital settings, including during labor and birth. CNMs are qualified to perform many of the same functions as other providers, often taking a more personalized, collaborative approach.
